Barriers to practicing lifestyle medicine in a healthcare setting include insufficient training of doctors in this field, lack of payment for such measures, and difficulty in convincing the patients to change their lifestyle. Even though it is acclaimed and has been integrated into medical guidelines as a component of treatment strategy, a disconnection exists in the real-world use whereby several providers do not initiate discussions about such interventions with patients. This definitely leads to a loss of an opportunity for patient education and helping to control and prevent the disease.
