The centenarians living in the blue zones eat mostly plant-based diets that focus on whole grains, nuts, greens, tubers and legumes. For an increased and healthy life span, greater emphasis should be placed on fruits and vegetables, along with reducing processed foods and avoiding animal products. Moreover, controlling portion sizes and eating within a certain timeframe regularly can also help.
